Re-Nous Day Spa is an intimate, private spa in Del Mar, specializing in skin and body treatments for beauty, relaxation, and rejuvenation. At Re-Nous, we are committed to providing you, our customer, with the Re-Nous Heavenly Touch experience. From the minute you walk in the door we focus on ensuring that you receive a customized experience that caters to your needs.

We are very particular about the products we offer and use at the spa. Our esthetician has carefully researched each product used in the skin treatments offered and we have a wide range available to accommodate any skin type. At your first facial our esthetician will conduct a skin analysis, overall goals consultation, and develop a recommended facial program for you. At the end of each treatment she will also recommend the best at home skin care for you to allow you maintain the benefits of the facial rejuvenation you experience at the spa.

Our massage therapists are highly qualified and trained in a wide variety of massage modalities. They have created a range essential aromatherapy oil blends to use during massage so as to provide you with the most effective massage to relieve the stress and strain that life can take on your body. In addition to oils, we also have creams and balms that can be used during treatments.

At Re-Nous our mantra is relaxation, rejuvenation and beauty through our myriad of day spa services such as massage, waxing and facials amongst other spa services. More information on our services can be found at www.renousdayspa.com

It is the quality of our therapists and the level of customer service that makes a day at Re-Nous the ultimate spa experience.

We have been in partnership with Mind Body Partnerships for the last four years. We love working with Ana and her team. Ana is very professional and easy to work with. We have had great success and have been able to get a lot of new clients.

Here a few testimonials from our clients.

I am a New York resident, city of many excellent spas. When I come to Del Mar to visit with my boyfriends parents, we make sure to schedule a facial or massage at Re-Nous. We are always greeted warmly at this clean, cozy and intimate spa. The facial, including massage is the soothing, relaxing and invigorating. Highly recommended if you want to treat yourself or someone you love to an hour or two of bliss

Sahn K. New York, NY 4/8/20

I received a facial from Ashley and a Swedish massage from Lin. Both were exquisite.

The place is small (2 rooms plus a lobby that overlooks the Pacific from across the street), clean, and relaxing. Soothing music and candles set the atmosphere and allow you to lose yourself in the moment.

They take great care of you before and after the session and offer you a suite of products (lotions, sunscreen) to purchase at the end of your visit.

The Re-Nous website is excellent and outlines their services, prices, and accommodations perfectly.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Re-Nous to anyone looking for a first class day spa.

Some may think it’s too good to be true, but this Mother’s Day gift idea is the real deal. It’s a jam-packed four part spa package called “Passport to Pampering” that’s described by many as, “a gift that can’t go wrong”. The good news even gets better when you hear the special Mother’s Day price is only $149.

Along with a great deal of joy and satisfaction, this present does have one built-in dilemma: the task of choosing only four tantalizing independent services from an incredible menu of over a dozen delectable wellness treats. A mind bending list of available services can be found at www.mbpartnerships.com.

When you realize the retail value of four like services is collectively worth hundreds of dollars, it’s reasonable to wonder how you can get so much for so little. But after close inspection, it all makes sense because the spa sampler is really a special introductory offer for new customers with the goal of developing repeat and referral business in the future. Because there is such an urgency to impress, “Passport to Pampering” has developed a rock-solid reputation for incredible service.

Reminiscent of a thoughtful greeting card, “Passport to Pampering” is presented in the form of an attractive gift certificate with prominent service categories listed inside. Every major discipline can be found, including Therapeutic Massage, Acupuncture, Med Spa Laser Hair Removal, Microdermabrassion, Weight Loss Hypnotherapy, and many more. To redeem the certificate, all one has to do is visit www.mbpartnerships.com and follow the simple on-line instructions.

This remarkable offer is made available through Mind Body Partnerships, San Diego’s most recognized referral service for premier practitioners of holistic health, beauty, and the leisure industry. Company owner, Ana Gaisiner, says her business is really that of matchmaker. “We introduce people who want and need specialized personal services to practitioners who are ready, able, and willing to make it happen”.

So back to my day off… for this auspicious occasion I decided to take myself to one of the premium resort spas in Southern California. The resort itself was beautiful and the spa amenities over the top: individually packaged dental kits, disposable combs and a choice of three kinds of curling irons at each vanity station. The treatment rooms were spacious, if not downright regal, with a relaxation room and bathrooms straight out of Home and Garden. Everything about it was impressive, expansive, distinguished and did I say impressive, at least until it came to the spa services. As they say in Southern California…the spa services themselves, not so much.

I scheduled a one hour body treatment including a scrub with Vichy shower and massage followed by a one hour facial. Maybe, no definitely, I’m a little spoiled, but I had high hopes. Why the letdown? Because that’s where it really comes down to people, and quality practitioners are not always easy to find. The whole experience really made me appreciate what I have. As I lay there counting the minutes for my torturous massage to be over, and if you’ve ever had a bad one you know what I mean, I felt joy and appreciation for the amazing people I have the honor of promoting on a daily basis

When I present Mind Body Partnerships’ services to high-end clientele, their main objection was that they didn’t want to go to a small independent establishment they’d never heard of. My response was always that, it’s often when you got to a large spa for a massage or facial that you really don’t know what kind of quality you’re going to get. They may have a high turnover, hiring young inexperienced practitioners, who come to get their $20 per hour, and who have little stake or competence in providing excellent service. Unless you’re a regular client and your practitioner works there long-term you’re just really taking a chance.

Unlike with the large hotels, with Mind Body Partnerships practitioners you’re going to see someone who is often the sole owner and provider of their service, who is in business because they passionately love what they do, and who knows that their livelihood depends on providing consistent excellent service. Often they have been in business for years, creating an intimate personal environment that reflects their aesthetic, their commitment to their clients and most of all their deep understanding of their art. Unlike the inexperienced, slightly awkward masseuse who seemed uncertain and uncomfortable in the imposingly grandiose resort, you will be greeted by someone who is assured and at home in their self created sanctuary, expert at using the equipment, and a professional with both business etiquette and a personal touch.

You can experience this level of expertise when you talk to Mind Body Partnerships’ estheticians about their products. They’re not using them because they filled out some application at the corporate headquarters and had a weekend crash course in a line of skincare they barely knew of before. Take Christy Zink at Namaste Skincare in Rancho Bernardo or Samtosa at Samtosa Skincare in little Italy. Both of these ladies researched their skincare products extensively, had months of training in using them, and years of experience before joining our program and, subsequently before putting those products on your face.

Then there are the massage therapists. Highly trained individuals like Gene Metcalf of Golden Touch Therapy in Encinitas, an expert at neuromuscular and trigger point therapy, or Sonia Reece of Eco Life Force in Hillcrest. Besides specializing in Thai Massage and Reflexology, Sonia teaches yoga therapy, and regularly writes articles about health and holistic living. Meet her in person and you know she walks the talk. Greg Lucero of GM Wellness Massage retired from a long and successful career in corporate America. A family man with grown children, he can relate to his clients on many levels. I got to him for business advice, not to mention an always effective and thorough massage.

Unlike most resort spas, our partners have offices conveniently located in our own neighborhoods; Namaste Skincare in Rancho Bernardo, Oasis Day Spa in Escondido, Sola Salon in intimate Bird Rock or the beautiful Salon Reiki in Kearney Mesa. Not to mention the convenience of parking, usually for free, right in front of the facility. I’m a busy woman, I don’t always have time for valets, pretentious check-ins, tips and more tips. I’d rather spend the time and money taking good consistent care of myself with people who know me in a place I can get to quickly and conveniently.

Then there’s the issue of personal connection, of continuity, of familiarity on the part of the practitioner with you, your music preferences, how warm you like the room, your sensitive skin or allergies, and whether you like to talk a lot or prefer an hour of blissful silence. Should you make an appointment at ReNous Day Spa in Del Mar, the quintessential neighborhood spa, and Mind Body Partner for over 4 years, more often than not you’ll be greeted by Nargis, the always smiling, twinkly eyed owner. You can feel good about making a connection with her because it’s genuine and you can be she’ll be there the next time you come in.

So what does it all boil down to? For people who like to take care of themselves, value their time, and care about quality consistent service I say check out Mind Body Partnerships service partners and stay close to home, there’s no place like it.

Every January people determine to make changes in their lives. The New Year brings on resolutions to get rid of old negative habits and take on new empowering ones. They dream of becoming a new person with new horizons and they fail. Do you wonder why these people do not even achieve an inch of what they dreamed of becoming for the New Year? Blame it on pure dreaming and a lack of goal setting for achieving their dreams.

If you read self help book it will tell you that in order to be successful you need to set goals. Goal setting is a very significant part of any success or positive accomplishments. Setting goals is like scaling a mountain. Just as climbers need to mark their route on the trail to the top you need goals to guide you on your path to success.

People who set goals literally create a map of the targets they want to achieve in life. Goals mark where they should begin, where they should pause, where they should work harder and where and when to stop. Once this map is created, it allows the map drawer (you) to check your progress and make adjustments as you move closer to your ultimate goals.

When you set goals you will know what you need to be doing and when you should be doing it so that you can stay focused and achieve your life’s dreams. Your goals will tell you if you can relax and if you need to increase your efforts to get you back on track.

When you set goals you are taking a proactive approach to life and dealing with the challenges that may affect your plans. Being proactive means one is able to outline possible difficulties that may occur as well as the solutions to these difficulties. When you take the time to do this, you are not so easily rattled when challenges occur because you have already prepared for them. By thinking through what you want to accomplish you have helped set yourself up for success.

Through goal setting you can track your progress. This will give you more confidence as you move step by step in their accomplishment.

However, goal setting by itself is not enough. You can have the best blueprint in the world of where you want to go but if you do not have the necessary discipline to carry out the plan, you’ll accomplish nothing.

In addition to self discipline you need to have a positive outlook. You need to believe that you can accomplish the goals you set for yourself. This involves a goal setting strategy.

To be successful in goal setting your goals need to be realistic. You need to base your current goals on your capabilities, as well as selected and important external factors.

I have found that when I have been too ambitious in setting my goals, making them unrealistic and very difficult to achieve, I have actually sabotaged my success. But having said that I also know that my goals should stretch me because if I set my goals too low they won’t motivate me to grow into the person I need to become so that I can accomplish the bigger things I want to do in my life.

In order to make them urgent, goals should be accompanied by a date or time of accomplishment. You need to have a time frame in which the goal will be achieved. This way, you are able to determine if you need to increase your work, get help or make adjustments to your plans.

Once you have accomplished a goal, or even a small step toward what you want to achieve, give yourself a pat in the back and maybe a small reward. This can help you keep motivated.

Set goals in all areas of your life, from personal and family life, to career and finances. You can use goal setting in things as simple as setting a target weight when you wish to lose a few pounds or something big, like earning your first million. Goals can help reduce your stress and keep you on the success track.

Just like those mountaineers, if you want to get to the top in the quickest way possible you’ll need a guide. That’s where a coach comes in. Coaches can help you set your goals as well as help you map out the steps you need to take in order to achieve them. Nearly every single highly successful person, from athletes to people in business, has coaches. They know that a coach will hold them accountable and help them see things from a perspective they don’t have – yet.

So there you have it. Why it’s so important to set goals. if you have set goals for the New year and are having trouble staying on track or would just like to set and accomplish some goals for this year you can give me a call at (800) 989-6570. Make this your best year yet!

Wishing you only success!

I don’t know about you but I’m not one of those people who shop for Christmas in July. Now I’ve talked with people who always have their radar on and can buy the perfect present when they see it. I’m just not like that. Now, as Christmas approaches I’m starting to think about present buying.

Although many people are buying on Internet sites a lot of people are more old fashion and prefer to browse around the shops. They like strolling though the malls, looking at the decorations and soaking up the music and the festive atmosphere. The problem is that it can be difficult to choose for everyone. Some people like to sort through the piles of Christmas catalogues that we get this time of year. The great thing about catalogues is that they offer good quality items at affordable prices all in the comfort of your home. Gift certificates and store vouchers are always appreciated if you really can’t think of anything.

This is where Mind Body Partnerships gift cards make a lot more sense. You get about five times as much value as what you paid. Or even better 5 gifts in one!

If you want to get the same old thing for the men in your life you can choose after shave, socks or sporting goods. More unusual gifts are novelty golf balls or socks with cartoon characters. Men also like bottles of whiskey in cool presentation cases, sport books such a challenging golf course or the history of baseball or football.

Women always seem to like toiletries and cosmetics, if you know what to buy. A bottle of her favorite perfume will almost always be appreciated. Although most ladies like chocolate, it’s important to only give them to someone who isn’t dieting. A romantic comedy DVD with Hugh Grant or George Clooney is bound to be enjoyed!

Many people are giving experience gifts. Events like going up in a hot air balloon, driving a race car or even going down in a cage to observe sharks! For the less adventurous, a day at a health spa would probably be welcome.

Of course the whole reason for Christmas is for the kids. Children love Christmas and seeing the look on their faces when they open their presents on Christmas morning can make all the work that goes into gift buying worth while. You can choose from countless plastic toys as well as the more traditional wooden toys. Since many educational toys are available, such as chemistry sets and alphabet games for younger children, parents can feel good about giving them.

I like to give reading materials to both kids and adults. I’ve found that a year’s subscription to someone’s favorite magazine is a great Christmas gift idea. For kids, story books are favorites, especially classic fairy tales and modern authors such as Roald Dahl and J.K Rowling, author of the Harry Potter series.

So you have lots of choices, but no matter you decide to get for your friends and family, when given with love, I’m sure they’ll enjoy it.

If you’re like me on special occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, or even Christmas you want to buy the people in your life something special. What I’ve found is that, especially as the holiday season rolls around, it can be very difficult trying to find the perfect present and we are always faced with the problem of buying just the right gift. All of us have people that we love that are always extremely hard to shop for. We go to their favorite clothing store, but we’re unsure of what exactly they would like. Or, for some of our friends we go to the bookstore trying to find a book that they might enjoy but the endless stretch of different selection of books makes it seem impossible that we’ll find the right one. These days a gift certificate can be bought at almost any store so you are never faced with these problems again.

These days most major companies offer gift certificates or gift cards to make it easier to buy that special gift. Don’t think of it as an easy way out since it’s still a very thoughtful gift. It’s more thoughtful than just giving someone money, since you at least thought about the store that they can use it at or, to give yourself even more leeway, a mall that you know they frequent. Sales associates at stores can only help you so much to find that one gift for someone, so they will usually suggest a gift certificate so the person receiving the gift won’t have to go through the trouble of coming back to the store to do either an exchange or a refund.

We typically associate these offerings with a clothing or jewelry store but that has changed. Restaurants take them or even coffee shops. A Starbucks gift certificate card can be used for either a tall latte, with extra foam purchase or maybe a brand new tumbler to take their coffee in to work every day. As well, certain types can be loaded again and again so it’s easier to use this than cash at times. Amazon also uses a gift certificate system so your loved one can buy a couple magazines or a book that they’ve wanted with your purchase for them.

For those special loved ones on your list you can give them a unique gift like a massage or a facial from a facility near them. Even better this Holiday season you can give them their choice of Health and Spa services from Mind Body Partnerships. That’s because for this holiday season only we’re running a special where you can purchase a single service for only $29.99 or you can receive five services for only $99.99, but hurry, this is a limited time special. You’ll need to purchase these services by December 15th. After that our prices will go back to their normal rates.

This can be the perfect present because it’s easy to give and to use, since the person can redeem it at their convenience and actually feel like they are getting something special. Also, for those of you that like to put things off until the last moment, they make a great backup plan since they are sure to please the person you are buying for. Most people would rather have a gift certificate anyways since they are guaranteed to use it. It’s a great gesture that will turn into a fantastic and welcomed present.

Written by: LINDA STARK, CHANGE AGENT

LIKE YOURSELF.

Get out a pen and paper and stand in front of a mirror. Now examine yourself very closely. Starting with the top of your head and moving down towards your feet, make a list of all of the physical things you like about yourself. Though this may be uncomfortable it is an important step towards learning to appreciate yourself. Your list can be broad or specific, from liking your straight posture, or the shape of your feet. Once you’ve taken inventory of your physical attributes, it’s time to move on to your mental or emotional attributes. These attributes might include things like you are a good friend or that you keep your commitments to others. Dig and dig for any nuggets of positive truths.

LET GO OF NEGATIVE THOUGHTS.

Again you will need a pen and paper. Write down the payoffs you are getting for holding on to the negative thoughts you have about yourself. Then ask yourself how those negative thoughts are benefiting you. The last question you will need to ask yourself is, are you willing to let go of the negative thoughts that are making you unhappy?

WRITE A LOVING LETTER TO YOURSELF.

Perhaps you have some old pictures of yourself as a small child between the ages of two and five. If you don’t have any, simply try to remember what you looked like at that age. Think about the sweetness you possessed and the innocence you held. Get in touch with how much that young child still resides within you. Perhaps you will feel a little teary-eyed at this point and that is just fine. Get a pen and paper and write that young child a letter. Tell that child that it is still an integral part of you and that you will do everything possible to take care of it. Tell that child that you will do only what’s good for it, make it happy, and assist it in living out a truly wonderful life.

CREATE THE PERFECT PARENT.

Take this opportunity to close your eyes and picture your ideal parent. Imagine what their personality would be like. What would they do for a living? How would they relate to your friends? What kind of housekeeper would they be? Are they happy, sad, outgoing, or introspective? Record your thoughts on paper and see if anything else pops up for you.

POSITIVE MESSAGES FROM YOUR PARENTS.

Now close your eyes and imagine what your perfect parent would have said that would have made you feel good about yourself. Perhaps things like: You are so smart; No matter what, I will always love you; or I am so glad that you are my child.

FEEL GOOD.

Let’s take some action on this one. Make a list of the people that make you feel good, then pick up the phone and make arrangements to see them. Don’t forget to tell them that you want to be with them because being with them makes you feel good about yourself.

ELIMINATE THE NEGATIVE “NANCY’S”.

It’s time to get a pen and paper out again. By now you know the routine. Most of us have friends that when we leave them we feel full of self doubt. Perhaps you were raised by a critical parent and having a critical person in our life is something you are familiar with. Consider what life would be like without this negativity in your life. Perhaps you are ready to see these people less frequently or not at all. Maybe it is just time to move on and do what it takes to feel good.

ENHANCE YOUR SELF ESTEEM DAILY.

Think about relaxation, a bubble bath, read a book or magazine, go to the gym, walk in the forest, by the ocean, in the desert, around a lake, or even in your neighborhood. Find a hobby, get a massage, or go out to coffee with a NURTURING FRIEND. Do as many of these things as possible.

GIVE YOURSELF AN HOUR.

We need to replenish ourselves on a continual basis. It is a requirement! Most of us find it easier to give to others than to ourselves. When we don’t take care of ourselves we don’t open ourselves up to emotional freedom. When we put ourselves first and act like we matter then we will continuously move forward!

EATING AND EXERCISING GO HAND IN HAND.

When you eat foods that are good for you, and move your body by going to the gym, going for a walk, swimming or dancing, endorphins are released giving you a happy feeling that crosses over to feeling you are deserving of all good gifts in life has to offer.

Changes in your life require new behaviors. New behaviors take time to become habits and habits are needed for permanent change. Here are five steps for helping you make new habits.

First you need to decide what you want specifically to happen. If you went to the airport and told them, “Give me a ticket,” what would the airline employee ask? “Where would you like to go?” If you told them, “Just give me a ticket to anywhere,” what would they do? They would probably have airport security take you away and have your mental stability evaluated. People say they want change but they just don’t know what the change will look like. So easy step one is “Visualize your Goal”.

Second you need to determine what you’ll get from making the change. Let’s say you’ve decided to become healthier and lose weight because your doctor told you that you were too heavy. Everything we do is for one of two reasons, either to avoid pain or increase pleasure. So you might ask yourself, “What will happen to my health if I change my health habits?” You might see yourself as slim and trim and more attractive to the opposite sex. That would be changing for a pleasurable reason or reward. A different question could be “What would happen if I don’t change? This might lead you to see yourself having a heart problem limiting what you can do in life. This would be changing to avoid pain. So you’ll change either to avoid pain or to receive a pleasurable reward. The second easy step is “Determine the Reward You’ll Get from Making the Change.”

The third easy step is you have to decide what is it you have to do to change. Let’s stick with the decision to become healthier and lose weight. What steps would be needed to reduce your weight and become healthier? The steps might be exercise more, reduce your intake of fatty foods, eat more fiber, and reduce your portion size. You also need to give yourself a start date to start. So the next easy step to make a change is to “List What You Need to Do and Give Yourself a Start Date.”

Your next easy step for change is to take action. You have decided to lose weight and become healthier. You have made exercise a key component of your plan. Now you need to start so you begin exercising on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays mornings at the gym. This easy step is simply to “Take Action”.

Your final easy step is to maintain what you have decided to do. You have decided to exercise every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 6 Am. The first week everything goes well. The second week you start off good on Monday, Wednesday you drag yourself out of bed but by Friday you decide you need your sleep so you stay in bed. The next week you exercise on Monday but you sleep in the rest of the week. Of course this won’t work. You need to stick to your plan. So this easy step is “Stick to Your Plan.”

Now let’s review the steps:

1) Visualize Your Goal

2) Determine the Reward You’ll Get from Making the Change

3) List What You Need to Do and Give Yourself a Start Date

4) Take Action

5) Stick to Your Plan

That’s it, five easy steps that you can use for permanent change.
